Simple rooms,
restful nights

Four room types in one quiet building, all of them plain by choice and all of them within a few steps of the garden.

The rooms at Assisi Garden are deliberately uncluttered. Clean lines, good beds, careful housekeeping and windows that open onto trees or old stone, with soundproofing that keeps the quiet where it belongs. After a day of climbing Assisi's steep lanes that plainness stops feeling like an absence and starts feeling like the reason you sleep well.

Every room is non-smoking and has air conditioning, heating and a private bathroom with towels, a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. Nothing here pretends to be a luxury resort; it is comfortable accommodation in an unusually peaceful setting, run by people who would rather describe it accurately than oversell it.

Guest room with tall window

Double Room

Our most requested room, suited to couples and to anyone who wants space to read in the evening.

Double Room

The bed is a queen, the bathroom is private, and the room is kept simple so the setting outside carries the atmosphere instead of the furniture. Air conditioning, heating, a wardrobe and a desk are all standard, and housekeeping comes daily.

Couples staying several nights tend to fall into the same pattern: out early towards the basilica, back through the hot part of the afternoon, and an evening spent between the restaurant and a quiet corner of the garden.

What to expect from the view

Depending on which room is allocated, the outlook may fall over the inner courtyard, the garden, the city, a landmark, the mountains or the surrounding landscape. Many rooms have a private balcony but not all of them do, so we do not promise either a particular view or a balcony with a booking. Tell us what matters and we will say honestly what is likely.

Single Room

A compact, well-kept room with one twin bed and a private bathroom, popular with pilgrims walking towards the Basilica of Saint Francis and with solo cultural travellers who spend their days out across Umbria and want somewhere quiet to come back to.

Because the property is set below the old town, a single traveller here is not paying for noise. Breakfast is on site, the bar and restaurant mean an evening needs no planning, and the walk up through the olive terraces starts at the gate whenever you decide to leave.

Triple Room

Three separate twin beds make this a straightforward choice for friends, siblings or small groups travelling together, with none of the compromises that come from folding an extra bed into a room built for two.

Triple Room

Like the rest of the house it is simple and clean, with air conditioning, heating, a private bathroom and the same soundproofing as every other room. It sits within the same quiet building, a short walk from the terrace, the picnic area and the free parking where the car can stay untouched for days.

Groups walking the pilgrim routes often use a triple as a base for two or three nights, heading up into Assisi in the mornings and out into the countryside in the afternoons. Baggage storage on arrival and departure days makes the first and last day of that pattern much less awkward.

Family Room

One queen bed for parents and two twin beds for children, arranged so a family of four can settle in for several nights rather than passing through. The garden, the picnic area and the outdoor play equipment are all a short walk from the door, which tends to make the end of a sightseeing day much easier for everyone involved.

Children of all ages are welcome at the property. Those aged four and above are charged as adults according to the conditions shown when you reserve, and pets are allowed at no extra charge, which is rarely true of accommodation inside a hilltop historic centre.

In every room

Air conditioning and heating
Both are fitted in every room, which matters in an Umbrian summer as much as in a damp winter week.
Private bathroom
Each room has its own bathroom with a shower or bath, a bidet and towels provided.
Hairdryer and toiletries
A hairdryer and complimentary toiletries are supplied, so there is less to carry uphill.
Wardrobe and desk
Somewhere to hang what you have washed and somewhere to write, plan a route or sit with a book.
Soundproofing
The walls are soundproofed, and the grounds are quiet to begin with, so sleep comes easily.
Non-smoking throughout
All rooms are non-smoking, and the garden gives smokers plenty of space outdoors.
Family rooms
Rooms configured for families are part of the standard offer rather than an occasional arrangement.
Daily housekeeping
Rooms are serviced every day of your stay, and room service is available if you prefer to stay in.

What we will not promise you in advance

Rooms differ, and we prefer to describe them honestly rather than attractively. A particular view cannot be guaranteed, a balcony cannot be guaranteed, and free Wi-Fi is available in the public areas of the property rather than described as covering every room.

If a specific requirement matters to your stay, whether that is an accessible room, a quiet corner of the building, adjoining space for children or an early departure before breakfast, write to us before you book. We will tell you plainly what is possible for the dates you have in mind instead of leaving you to find out on arrival.

Choose the room that suits how you travel.

Availability and the conditions that apply to each room type appear as soon as you check your dates, and the property is glad to answer anything the listing does not cover.

If something about your stay needs discussing first, whether that is an accessible room, an early departure, a dog travelling with you or a special-diet meal, write or call the property and we will tell you plainly what is possible.
