Stay notes

Confirmed practical information for staying at Assisi Garden, written plainly and without anything we cannot promise.

Everything below covers the parts of a stay that are easier to know in advance: arrival and departure hours, how we handle children and pets, what the parking situation actually is, and what you will find on the property once you are through the gate. If something you need is not written here, it is better to ask us directly than to assume, and we will answer without dressing it up.

Check-in

2:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Please advise the property of your expected arrival time in advance. It helps us have someone ready for you, particularly late in the evening when the road up from the valley is dark and the town above has gone quiet. Photo identification and a credit card are required at check-in.

Check-out

7:00 AM to 10:30 AM

Early departures are common here, since many guests are continuing further into Umbria the same morning. Luggage can be stored if you would like one final walk up towards the old town before you drive on, and express check-out keeps the last half hour of a stay from becoming a queue.

Children

Children of all ages are welcome, and the garden, the picnic area and the outdoor play equipment make this an easy property for families in a town where almost everything else involves a climb. Children aged four and above are charged as adults according to the booking conditions shown when you reserve.

Meals for children are available for an additional charge, and family rooms sleeping up to four guests sit close to the play area rather than at the far end of the building.

Pets

Pets are allowed, with no extra charge. The grounds give them somewhere proper to walk, which is not always true of accommodation inside a hilltop historic centre where the only outdoor space is a stone street.

If you are travelling with a dog, mention it when you reserve so that we can allocate a room where coming and going through the garden is straightforward for both of you.

Free private parking in the grounds

Parking

Free private parking is available on site, reservation is not required, and accessible parking is available. For anyone arriving by car this is one of the most useful things about the property, given how constrained parking becomes higher up in Assisi during the day.

In practice most guests park once and then walk for the rest of their stay, taking the car out only for day trips further into Umbria.

Accessibility

Facilities for disabled guests are available, and upper floors are reached by elevator rather than stairs alone. The grounds are largely gravel and gently graded, which is worth knowing in advance if you use a wheelchair or find uneven surfaces difficult.

If you have specific access requirements, contact us before booking so we can confirm exactly what suits you instead of leaving it to chance on the day. We would rather tell you honestly what the building can and cannot do.

Around the property

Garden and terrace
Mature planting, olive trees and tall pines across the grounds, with shaded seating arranged for the hour when your walking is finally done.
Picnic area and outdoor furniture
A practical spot for families and road travellers, with furniture spread through the garden rather than gathered into one crowded corner.
Children's playground
Outdoor play equipment within the grounds, close to the family rooms, which makes late afternoons considerably easier for parents.
Chapel and shrine
Both remain within the property from its monastery years, and they still set the tone of the place more than anything we have added since.
Shared lounge and TV area
An indoor room to sit in when an evening turns cool, useful on the days when Umbrian weather decides against the terrace.
Room service and daily housekeeping
Rooms are serviced every day of your stay, and room service is available for guests who would rather not come downstairs at all.
Baggage storage
Useful on arrival and departure days, so an early check-out does not cost you a last morning walk up towards the basilica.
Concierge and flexible check-in
Help with directions, routes and local planning, plus private and express check-in and check-out arrangements to keep arrivals brief.

Free Wi-Fi is available in the public areas of the property. We do not offer airport shuttle or transport services of any kind, and anything not listed on this site should be treated as unconfirmed until you have asked us about it.

Everything settled? Choose your nights.

The conditions that apply to your chosen room appear when you check availability, and the property is happy to talk through arrival, access or travelling with a pet beforehand.

If something about your stay needs discussing first, whether that is an accessible room, an early departure, a dog travelling with you or a special-diet meal, write or call the property and we will tell you plainly what is possible.
